Medium-sized tree with a wide, open crown, branches have a crotch angle of 45 degrees. Unlike ‘Elsrijk’, ‘Queen Elizabeth’ is less tolerant to hard surfaces. In green borders and road shoulders ‘Queen Elizabeth’ grows excellently and provides a more uniform image than A. campestre. The leaves are shiny dark green and have round lobes. The autumn colour is deep yellow. At an early age the plant is slightly sensitive to mildew, but after some time this sensitivity decreases. The plant forms a strongly branching main root with very many hair roots. ‘Queen Elizabeth’ is a decorative tree, which, applied in the right way, can stand out beautifully.
